The Story of My Boobs captures the personal stories of current, former, and future boob-owners of all genders and ages. This project touches on topics including what it’s like to go through breast cancer treatment and top surgery, get cat-called, suffer from body dysmorphia, and sexual trauma, and understand the bodies we live in in 2022. The first The Story of My Boobs gallery and live performance took place at Chance Studios in Soho, NYC in August 2021.

I met Mikey my freshman year of college. After applying for a bunch of jobs, Mikey’s mom, Eleanor, reached out to me to start working with Mikey as his buddy. Quickly my relationship with Mikey evolved from “buddies” to true friendship. While spending time with Mikey, I noticed myself changing. I saw the way he interacted with the people, the excitement he took in seeing his friends after just a few hours away from them, the compassion he exhibited for anyone who looked even slightly sad, and his contagious pure joy for simple moments. I decided his story and outlook was something that needed to be shared so that others could experience his magic.
MIKEY is a short documentary that looks into the life and spirit of Mikey Lorch. A beautiful human being who was born with developmental differences. Mikey leads his life in an extraordinary way and has proven to be a teacher and light to those who know him. I hope you can feel his spirit through these small vignettes of his life and that you might be inspired as well. “I wish the world was a little bit more like Mikey”- Eleanor Block (Mikey's mom).

I started this project my senior year of High School after many afternoons spent in my grandpa’s living room looking through old photos with him and hearing the stories that they inspired. A photo is a little slice of someone’s life and seeing their connection to that slice is really beautiful to me. So, I set out photographing family members, friends, friends of friends, etc and collecting the stories of their favorite photos.
